Industry Capability Network Victoria (ICN), Regional Development Victoria and regional partners delivered a practical, hands-on forum focused on building local capability and readiness for critical minerals mining and associated infrastructure projects across northwest Victoria.
The forum brought together critical minerals developers, project delivery contractors and local industry representatives to share information on upcoming projects, procurement pathways, workforce needs and opportunities for regional businesses to get involved.
Attendees heard directly from mining companies, project developers and industry representatives, gained insights into project pipelines and procurement expectations, explored ICN Gateway opportunities and connected with workforce, training and employment supports to become project-ready.
The event also provided developers, proponents and contractors with the opportunity to assess regional supply chain capability, identify workforce gaps and connect with local businesses positioned to support project delivery.
The day featured project briefings, market intelligence, industry insights, panel discussions, structured networking and trade-show style engagement, with a strong focus on matchmaking to support meaningful connections and real project outcomes for regional businesses.
The forum aimed to increase regional participation and drive economic benefit across the Wimmera and northwest Victoria by supporting local businesses, suppliers, manufacturers and workforce providers to better understand and access future critical minerals and mining-related opportunities.
